Exploring Cleveland

Hi! It's Jilly. Back in September the kids and I were able to go with Hubby on a work trip to Cleveland. It was so much fun! And, I was finally able to meet my buddy, Janelle, after many years of friendship! We have quite the history, which I will have to tell you all about soon.

But, for now I am going to tell you about our exploration of Cleveland. I orginially posted about it over at My Favorite Finds, where I am the travel contributor. I wanted you guys to hear all about it over here on Hi! It's Jilly, though. You have to see pictures of this beautiful city! Let's explore Cleveland together, shall we?

Beautiful Architecture
Cleveland is full of beautfiul, historic homes, and some amazing buildings in the downtown area. Everywhere we looked there was another wonderful building in our sights!

Cleveland is For Lovers  Foodies
I had no idea that Cleveland was such a tasty place! They have all kinds of neat restaurants, many of which have been featured on The Travel Channel and Food Network. One yummy place we visited is Sweetie Fry. All the entrees are loaded, handcut French Fries, like Chili Cheese Fries and Chicken Parmesean Fries. For dessert, try some of their fresh, handmade ice cream. Mmmmm…I die. SO good!

West Side Market
A must-visit when in Cleveland is the West Side Market. My friend Janelle described it as an indoor Pike Place Market. I thought that was a great description. Lots of awesome booths with fresh fruit and veggies, meats, pastries, and other novelty foods. Make sure you take cash, ’cause many vendors don’t take credit cards. And, be sure to get some gyros from the famous Steve’s Gyros. The line is long, but it’s worth it!

Great Lakes Science Center
If you have kids, the Great Lakes Science Center is worth a visit. The whole third floor is dedicated to awesome hands-on exhibits that even Janelle and I enjoyed playing with. They also have a huge NASA exhibit, and a real steamship you can tour! The steamship is only open on the weekends after Labor Day, so keep that in mind if you want to see that.
