Cruise Recap Part 2- Coco Cay, Bahamas

Hi! It's Jilly. Last week I started to tell you about our awesome cruise. Today I am going to tell you all about our first port- Coco Cay, Bahamas. Coco Cay is Royal Caribbean's private island. They actually ship in "locals" to run the gift shops and stuff. Ha ha!

When we got there everyone else headed to the left but, rebels we are, headed right. We ended up on this remote part of the island with a really rocky shore, and a bunch of neat tide pools.

We were having a great time exploring when a guy in a golf cart came by. He asked us if we needed any help, told us we weren't really supposed to be over there, and offered us a ride back to the part of the island that wasn't off limits. Ooops...

We climbed on our "complimentary" golf cart ride. After the driver drove through a big gate, then closed it and locked it, he dropped us off and we decided to wander down the nature trail. There were these really cool trees in the 'woods'. They were poisonous and had caution tape wrapped around them! There is another tree growing on the island that is the antidote to the poison trees! Pretty neat, eh?

When we came to the end of the nature trail we found a beautiful beach where hardly any people were. It was gorgeous! We walked in the water and up and down the beach looking for shells and just enjoying the views and ocean breezes.

We wandered further down the beach and got some lunch, then I relaxed in a hammock while Scott went back to the ship and got our snorkeling gear. When he returned we got in a few minutes of good snorkeling. Every time we go snorkeling I have at least one moment when I feel like I'm going to die, but I still do it! Gotta get over my fears!

It was a beautiful day on a beautiful island! Next time I'll tell you about our second stop- St. Thomas.
