They have a huge amphitheater, where they put on aquatic shows with beluga whales, dolphins, seals, and other animals. The kids loved the show, especially when the animals did their tricks. They even got to chat with one of the trainers after the show!
The aquarium has really great displays throughout the aquarium, like these “mountains” with waterfalls.
The Wild Reef exhibit was amazing! It was breathtakingly beautiful. I loved that they had interactive monitors with information about all the different fish living on the reef, so you could find out the names of your favorite fish!
The kids loved getting up close to the beluga whales in the Polar Play Zone. They have tables right there, so you can watch the animals swimming underwater while you eat your lunch.
The kids also liked dressing up like penguins and climbing around the Penguin Play Area. It was one of the kids' favorite parts of the aquarium, and they spent a lot of time there.
It is a really kid-friendly aquarium, with lots of hands-on displays, places to play, and exhibits down on their level.
The Jellies exhibit was pretty awesome. Jellyfish are so weird! They're fun to watch, though.
The 4-D movie was a lot of fun. They have two different movies to choose from; Sea Monsters: A Pre-Historic Adventure, or Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs- The 4-D Experience
We spent the whole day there and were not bored one single bit! There was so much to see and do, and it was so fascinating! If you are ever in Chicago, you should definitely take the time to visit the Shedd Aquarium!!
